Every photographer knows to keep an open mind when conducting a photo shoot with a newborn. But when it came to photographing Katie, Peter and 5-week-old Leo, the process couldn’t have gone any smoother!

There’s nothing quite as magical as a newborn photoshoot. The first three months of a little one’s life come and go in a flash, so it’s wonderful being able to document precious moments shared between a budding family.
Katie and Peter were in awe of their sweet, baby boy. He melted all of our hearts and looked up at his loving mom and dad with such wonder and innocence in his eyes. Little Leo was such a little champ throughout the photoshoot. His full head of hair contrasted his sweet white outfit perfectly. Not to mention mom’s stunning dresses that made her look absolutely gorgeous in and amongst the grass and trees.

We started off with some fun pictures on a picnic blanket surrounded by beautiful trees and skies. Little instruction was needed with this lovely family as the love they had for each other was so apparent and easily felt in each and every photo. Katie wore a gorgeous brown dress that perfectly complimented her long hair. Dad kept it simple with a grey top and shorts. Comfortable and happy - exactly what every family should be.

We then got some precious shots of little Leo in a white blanket. I love this simple and pure approach to newborn photography. It’s great for photographing the little details like itty bitty feet and just how tiny those little hands are when clutching mom’s. Leo truly was so angelic and sweet in his cosy little outfit.

Mom changed into a flowy white dress and dad opted for a dapper plaid shirt. The colors were neutral, and calm and perfectly complimented the stunning day around us. Every photographer’s dream! Leo looked up at his dad with pure joy and Peter is undoubtedly a natural. He clearly has this “dad” thing down and adores his sweet little boy. As does mom!

We then made our way to an understated but beautiful bridge on the water to capture the final shots. Leo wore a tiny little bonnet that was absolutely adorable and you could see just how tiny this little guy really is when standing up.
I’m thrilled that this lovely family chose me to photograph their little one at just 5 weeks old. I wish them nothing but happiness as their story continues to unfold for years to come.
